Since 1989, the TGTA team has structured numerous complicated transactions and brought major repositioning and development operations to completion. The partners and their key staff are all very active in the business community and are close with a host of decision-makers.

Partners

Bernard Thibault

Partner

Bernard Thibault has been involved in real estate promotion and development for more than forty years.

He oversees operations for various projects under TGTA’s direction. He has served as president or member of a variety of executive boards in the hospitality and real estate industries, including: president of the Greater Montreal real estate board; member of the Urban Development Institute board of directors; and vice president of the Association des courtiers et Agents Immobiliers du Québec.

At the national level, he has been director of the Canadian Real Estate Association, which has more than 85,000 members, while at the same time being a member of the Real Estate Institute of Canada.

Bernard Thibault is also involved with organizations; he has, in particular, been a member of the board of directors of a large general hospital in the Greater Montreal area and president of the Charles-Lemoyne Hospital Foundation.

He contributes his knowledge in the real estate industry to the Urban Planning Advisory Committee in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough.

Guy Trudeau

Partner

Guy Trudeau has directed the company’s financial operations since 1999. When he arrived in 1991, he guided market research and managed the financial packages for various investment projects carried out by the company.

His thoroughness and critical thinking underlie his affinity for assembling investments and the marketing aspect. His passion for real estate, paired with the variety of projects achieved by the firm over the years, shaped his multidisciplinary vision of the real estate business.

He holds a master’s degree in Management Sciences (M.Sc.) from the Hautes Études Commerciales business school in Montreal.

Martin Galarneau

Partner

Martin Galarneau, partner, has over 28 years' experience in real estate, including 23 years with TGTA. He is responsible for the project developments, oversees the company's strategic legal affairs, negotiates partnership agreements, and acquisitions, and maintains relations with stakeholders, and institutional and public partners.

He is a lawyer, a member of the Quebec Bar since 1989, and holds a certificate in real estate business and a master's degree in urban planning (Université de Montréal/University of British Columbia).

With a track record marked by the occupation of the post of Associate Deputy Minister for the region of Montreal at the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de la métropole, he began his career in the late 1980s in a major Montreal law firm specializing in real estate law, where he worked mainly on financing and acquisition files.

He pursues his involvement in the community by being or formerly serving on the boards of several foundations and organizations, such as the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles (Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Governance and Ethics Committee), École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, Montréal International (member of the Executive Committee), Société du Havre de Montréal, Institut de développement urbain (Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Economic and Urban Development Committee), UQAM (member of the Audit Committee), Groupe Le Massif, the Comité des affaires municipales et urbaine de la chambre de commerce du Montréal métropolitain, the Commission de l'Aménagement et de la Mobilité de la CMM and the Comité Aviseur sur la fiscalité municipale — Montreal city.

Key Staff

Carole Cinq Mars

Financial Director

Carole Cinq Mars is part of the TGTA team since 2002. She manages the operations as well as the financial and tax aspects of the group's various real estate projects. Before joining the team, she was a consultant for KPMG/Secor Conseils Inc., for which she carried out various mandates for SMEs and several organizations. Among other things, she carried out organizational diagnostics, operational and financial framework reviews and the implementation of budgetary processes. Carole is a CPA and has an MBA from UQAM.

MANCE MÉNARD ST-PIERRE

Legal Advisor

Mance Ménard St-Pierre, lawyer, joined the TGTA team in October 2022 where she acts mainly in financing, investment, partnership, acquisition and asset disposal mandates.

Ms. Ménard St-Pierre began her career at JGW Avocats et conseillers d'affaires where she developed her skills in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and in the drafting of various legal documents related to corporate activities. She then developed her expertise by specializing in real estate at Gascon and Associates where she was called upon to advise lenders, borrowers, developers, buyers and sellers for various large-scale real estate projects in Quebec.

In 2017, she was actively involved in the progression of the design and construction of a 32-unit residential building as a member of the executive board of the family investment fund.

Mance has learned to combine her skills in business and real estate law to assist and advise the team at every stage of the various real estate projects.

She also completed a certificate in Human Resources Management in 2022. This complement to her legal background allows her to adapt to the needs of the team and keep an efficient management of the different files.

Sophie Laverdure

Project Director, Real Estate Development

Sophie was part of TGTA’s team from 1996 to 2001, when she participated in the acquisition, redevelopment and sale of several real estate projects. She rejoined TGTA’s team in 2016.

Sophie Laverdure holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Montreal as well as a certificate in management from McGill University and a certificate in real-estate from UQAM.

She has been a chartered appraiser since 1996 and has worked for some of Montreal’s top appraisal firms, focusing on real estate portfolios for major pension funds and as a part of the due diligence team for several major deals.

Experienced in real estate and asset management, Sophie is now in charge of residential and office development projects, including planning, construction, marketing, sales and commercial lease negotiations.

Simon-pierre Giroux

PRINCIPAL ADVISOR, REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT

Simon-Pierre joined the TGTA team in 2018 and holds the position of Senior Advisor in Real Estate Development.

With a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from HEC Montreal, he also combines a certificate in real estate from ESG UQAM and has been working in the real estate field for nearly 10 years.

A chartered appraiser since 2012, his expertise and practice were mainly oriented towards appraisals in the context of acquisition or disposal of real estate assets as well as in the context of dispute resolution related to expropriation files.

Experienced in the management of multi-residential rental assets, Simon is now involved in the development of new and ongoing projects, and more specifically in the rigorous analysis of market data in order to identify trends and opportunities.

In addition to serving as a member of an Urban Planning Advisory Committee (UPC), he gives back to the community, notably as a member of the board of directors of an elementary school foundation.

Xavier Chénard

PRINCIPAL ADVISOR, REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT

Xavier Chénard has been a member of the TGTA team since 2008. As part of his responsibilities, he participates on the financial analysis of new projects, market analysis, monitoring of ongoing projects, leasing of vacant space and reporting to investors.

He is a CFA® charterholder.
